Why does the public radio station in Albuquerque, NM play mostly mexican music?

I like to listen to the npr programs but the npr station here in Albuquerque does not have too many and the ones they do have are not really the ones I would like to hear. They have programs like prairie home campanion and car talk.The rest of the program is mexican music.
